Stefan Heibach received his musical education at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin and completed his vocal studies with Julia Varady and Reiner Goldberg. With Nicolai Gedda he prepared his repertoire as lyric tenor. When he was still a student he guest appeared in smaller roles at the Komische Oper Berlin. First engagement at the Landestheater Detmold, followed by a long-term engagement as a company member of the Mecklenbur- gisches Staatstheater Schwerin interpreting roles like Tamino / Die Zauberflöte, Don Ottavio / Don Giovanni, Erik / Der fliegende  Holländer, Hans / Die verkaufte Braut, Max / Der Freischütz. He is still a guest artist of this traditional opera house (Ein Sänger / Der  Rosenkavalier, 2019). Stefan Heibach has guest appeared at the Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona (Salome / Narraboth), Teatro Colón Buenos Aires (Das  Rheingold / Loge), Opéra Bastille Paris, Teatro alla Scala di Milano, Staatstheater Hannover and at the Munich State Opera. For many years he appeared regularly at the Bayreuth Festival. Stefan Heibach disposes of a comprehensive concert repertoire. Concert engagements as lied recitalist and as soloist with sym- phony orchestras in Paris, Amsterdam, Istanbul, Japan, St. Peters- burg. The artist has worked with many important stage directors and conductors including Harry Kupfer, Katharina Wagner, Hans Neuenfels, Stephan Herheim, Uwe Eric Laufenberg, Barry Kosky, Marek Janowski, Sebastian Weigle, Andris Nelsons, Daniele Gatti.
