Reiner Goldberg
Reiner Goldberg received his musical education in Dresden (Hoch- schule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber, Arno Schellenberg). Since 1977 he has been a regular member of the Berlin State Opera where he interprets the leading roles in his repertoire (e. g. Lohengrin, Siegmund, Siegfried / Siegfried and Götterdämmerung, Stolzing / Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Tannhäuser). He has also toured with the Berlin State Opera under the musical direction of Daniel Barenboim to Japan and Madrid. Guest contract with the Berlin State Opera since the 2005 / 2006 season for roles like Aron / Moses und Aron, Herodes / Salome, Aegisth / Elektra, Melot / Tristan und Isolde, Ein  Zirkusdirektor / Die verkaufte Braut. Reiner Goldberg has sung a tremendous range of roles. He has appeared at the major opera houses in Europe including the Dres- den, Hamburg, Vienna and Munich State Operas, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Royal Opera House, London as well as Zurich, at the Opéra National de Paris, De Nederlandse Opera, Teatro alla Scala di Milano and at international festivals (Bayreuth Festival, Lucerne Festival, Salzburg Easter Festival and Salzburg Festival). The artist has also sung at the Metropolitan Opera New York (roles such as Tannhäuser, Florestan and Siegfried / Siegfried and Götter- dämmerung). Equally at home on the concert platform, Reiner Goldberg has sung with the leading symphony orchestras in Europe, in the United States of America and in Japan. He has worked with stage directors such as Ruth Berghaus, Dieter Dorn, Christof Loy, Harry Kupfer, Peter Konwitschny, Peter Mussbach and has sung under such eminent conductors as Claudio Abbado, Daniel Barenboim, James Conlon, Heinz Fricke, Bernard Haitink, Fabio Luisi, Zubin Mehta, Giuseppe Sinopoli, Sir Georg Solti.
