Evelyn Herlitzius

Evelyn Herlitzius studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater  in Hamburg. First engagements in Flensburg, Saarbrücken and  Karlsruhe. Since her debut at the Dresden State Opera in 1997 as Leonore /  Fidelio she has performed regularly with this company (roles such  as Salome, Färberin / Die Frau ohne Schatten, Jenufa, Elisabeth   and Venus / Tannhäuser, Kundry / Parsifal, Brünnhilde / Die  Walküre, Siegfried, Götterdämmerung, Jeanne / Die Teufel von  Loudon).   Evelyn Herlitzius has performed with all the major opera companies  throughout Europe and Japan, including the Berlin, Munich,  Hamburg, Stuttgart and Vienna State Operas, the Deutsche Oper  Berlin (complete Ring Cycle), De Nederlandse Opera, Teatro alla  Scala di Milano (Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk / Katerina Izmaylova,  Wozzeck / Marie, Lohengrin / Ortrud). Evelyn Herlitzius also has a  busy concert career. Sir Simon Rattle engaged her for Schönberg's  Erwartung with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra for concerts in  Berlin and New York and for Die Walküre / Brünnhilde. Pierre  Boulez invited her to sing with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra  (Glagolitic Mass).   After her debut with the Bayreuth Festival in 2002 in the role of  Brünnhilde, Evelyn Herlitzius received re-invitations for the Ring  Cycle in 2003 and 2004 as well as for Parsifal / Kundry in 2006 and  2007. New production of Lohengrin / Ortrud, 2010. Salzburg Festi-  val 2011, new production Die Frau ohne Schatten / Färberin  Festival d'Aix en Provence 2013: Elektra / title role (Chereau / Esa  Pekka Salonen). Evelyn Herlitzius has worked with many important conductors and  stage directors including Sir Georg Solti, Giuseppe Sinopoli, Daniel  Barenboim, Daniele Gatti, Adam Fischer, Christian Thielemann,  Fabio Luisi, Kent Nagano, Simon Rattle, Willy Decker, Jürgen  Flimm, Andreas Homoki, Harry Kupfer, Nikolaus Lehnhoff, Christof  Loy, Hans Neuenfels and Christoph Schlingensief.  Evelyn Herlitzius has been awarded the Kammersängerin title  (2002). She has also received the "Christel-Goltz-Prize" (1999) and  the ”Deutsche Theaterpreis Faust" (2006). Representation: General Management / Worldwide
